On January 20, 2022, Patricia Anne Glenwright Egner passed away at the age of 69. She was the beloved wife of the late David Egner; devoted mother of Sara Killian and her husband Thomas Killian III; dedicated grandma of Thomas “Kade” Killian IV; loving daughter of the late James D. Glenwright and the late Margaret Glenwright; dear sister of Frederick Glenwright and his wife Diane; also survived by many other relatives and friends. Pat grew up in Tioga, PA, attended Lebanon Valley College where she met her husband, Dave, graduated from Penn State University, and Johns Hopkins University. She was a chemo-preventive researcher at the esteemed Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health where she served as a senior scientist and faculty member. Pat was an accomplished gardener and frequently delivered fresh vegetables or homemade canned goods to neighbors and family. She began volunteering for Bel Air Parks and Recreation as a basketball coach almost 30 years ago, eventually becoming the chairperson for the Girls Basketball Program. She also served the BARC Board in several capacities, including President and Vice President. Pat’s most important role was as “Gram,” spending countless hours helping Kade check the weather, playing outside, finding sticks, putting together puzzles, and losing at Uno. Grandma is now having a beer with Grampa. Relatives and friends may gather at Schimunek Funeral Home of Bel Air, Inc. 610 W. MacPhail Rd. Bel Air, MD on Friday, January 28, from 11:30-1:00, at which time the memorial service will begin. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Bel Air Parks and Recreation Committee 525 W. MacPhail Rd. Bel Air, MD 21014.
