Dear Pat & family, 

It seems like only months ago we were saying good-bye to Patrick, not a full year. At times I'm sure it felt like the longest year ever; other times, only moments away. That first year is the hardest: holidays, memories, joy & sorrow. 

As you reflect & gather in his memory, may your hearts be lighter. Losing a family member, especially a child, one may never completely heal, and that's okay.  Just know that many of us are here to support & love you.

After my initial entry on the guest book, I have read the notes & cried with you. But today when I saw the pictures, I was touched even more. What a beautiful family & so many smiles at the places you've all been. The days of innocence at youth, to the teen years of rebellion. They all reflect the stages of life. Maybe in Heaven God lets the final stages continue on or maybe he will become someone's Guadian Angel. Regardless, he will be remembered by all in many ways. I am here to walk with you.

Dear Pat, Jackie & Sean, We are so very sorry for your loss. I remember Patrick as such a happy quiet little boy that just adored his big sister Jackie. He stayed in her shadow day and night. Don't remember him not having skinned knees from all the climbing and adventures we got ourselves in. He hung right in there with us older kids and loved his early years to the fullest! There will be a day with no more sadness and pain. May the God of all comfort keep you in the palm of his hand.

To My Dear Son Patrick, My heart aches & my grief knows no bounds today.  I will always cherish the good times we had together. Your charming ways, great smile, and your quick wit will always be a part of my memories. I could always play a joke on you & each year at Christmas you couldn't wait to see what I came up with.  Remember the picture with your long hair that I pasted in the bottom of a box & wrapped it up & gave it to you some years later.  We all laughed when you opened it & when you had many dents & scrapes in your car I found a Hot Wheels, painted it & then beat it up to match your car.  We all roared at the look on your face, & then you laughed too.  These are my memories I will always love you & miss you.  You are part of my heart.

I remember hanging out with Sean and Pat back in the 70's.  Thought about the Kearns family in the years since then, and regret that I lost touch.  Hope you all think about the good times you had with Pat, and the smiles he brought to everybody's face as you deal with this chapter of your lives.

I am saddened by the news that Patrick has passed away.  In elementary school Pat and I had a little tussle, but after that we were all good. I went to school with Patrick.  Your family is in my thoughts and prayers.

I am deeply saddened to hear this about Pat.............in high school he truly lit up a room with his humor and kindness for people and I have many memories of him.  My condolences are with all the family and friends on this loss.

Pat always had a friendly word for everybody, always telling jokes and lightening everyone's mood. School can be a social nightmare, but Pat put smiles on so many faces with his lighthearted comments. Pat was like the "Butch Cassidy" of school and no one will forget him. I was the new kid, you were the class clown. You thought it was funny to shoot spitballs into my hair. After a brief scuffle we became friends, then best friends. We had some great times and I am so sorry we lost touch. RIP MY FRIEND!!
