On behalf of Phil's work family, I know I can say that Phil will be forever in our hearts. Phil touched everyone he came in contact with and made everyone not only feel welcome, but part of the group/family. As I am reading through some of the memories posted by loved ones, I am not shocked to see this sentiment consistently repeated. Phil brought such a positive energy, that he could help guide us through any tough situation, with a quick witted quip or even just a look. I very much looked forward to days Phil would be working as it would make our days go by not only so quickly, but in a positive manner. It was a pleasure to see Phil grow over the last year plus, from the time I first sat with him during his interview to watching him help mentor some of the younger/newer people coming in. As hard as I try, I cannot adequately put into words the impact Phil had on all of us. All I can say is that it was great to have known such an incredible human being and that we are all better for having known him.

To Phil's family, I'm so, so sorry for your loss. I think I speak on behalf of Fallston's entire graduating class of 2008 when I say that Phil was just a genuinely fun human being to be around. We haven't spoken much since high school, but I honestly can't think of a time between 6th and 12th grade where I wasn't happy to see him. In the hall, at the lunch table, after school... he could make you laugh anywhere, anytime, and I'm grateful for every time he did. I'll never forget him.

While I never got to meet Phillip, I have fond memories of getting to know his loving brother Seth who was my son Allan’s roommate at WVU, and then met their Mom Cindy who was such a big help to me taking care of the boys’ rental house there, making cleaning up behind them so much fun. Two people that I liked very much & I know I would have liked Phillip just as much after hearing what a funny guy he was, very much loved by his family & friends. I’m so sorry to hear of his passing & I hope Seth, Cindy & his family find peace & comfort in the days ahead.

Phil was my housemate at WVU back in 2010. Myself, Phil, Chuck, Anthony and our other roommates were like a tight-knit family that year, we did everything together. As anyone could tell you, he was one of the most hilarious people I've ever met. Not only jokes and funny stories, but voice imitations, dances, goofy faces he made, he was a one of a kind character and truly talented. We played frisbee on nice spring days and had some epic nights playing Smash brothers with the neighbors (in addition to all of the expected college activities). We haven't seen much of each other since college, but every now and then I laugh when a memory of his antics comes to mind. It was heart wrenching to hear he passed, much too early for him to go. My heart goes out to the Cook family. Speaking on behalf of all the other housemates at 360 Brockway, I can say that we will always dearly miss him.

Phil Cook, the Legend.
Phil was a badass.
Phil was the kind of friend that will NEVER be forgotten.
He knew how to make anyone laugh. When I say “laugh”, Phil was the kind of friend that made my face hurt when we hung out because he made me laugh so hard. He was the kind of friend that would always have my back. The kind of friend that could turn a bad time into a party. Phil was the party. Phil taught me to not take life so serious. I’m truly honored to have called Phil my friend. I’m going to miss you buddy

Uncle Wayne, Aunt Cindy, Elliott, and Seth,
I was so sad to learn about Phillip, and can’t imagine what you must be feeling. The long distances and busy lives have kept me from seeing him and all of you in recent years as much as we might like , but I remember very clearly the constant playing and joking when Phillip was a kid (even with his much bigger cousins and adults). My ( and Ana’s, Olivia’s and Lily’s) deepest sympathies to you all.
Love,
Jeff
