I feel very fortunate to have gotten to know Richard through my friendship with Carol. What a generous and genuine person he was, always willing to help anyone out with wise advice, a car ride, or a joke to calm the nerves. I enjoyed his stories of living in Colorado and Massachusetts, working for the government, many travels and languages, and beloved family, and sharing our love for movies and Seinfeld.  

The affection he and Carol shared was so sweet, and I’ll always remember Carol’s face lighting up whenever he called and her laughter during their conversations. 

My deepest condolences to his family and friends.  He will be missed by all who were lucky to know him.

I loved hanging out with Carol and Richard, especially watching Jeopardy together as we all tried to get the answer first. Mom was always hoping we girls would get married, but once Richard came back into Carol's life, we all knew she'd be okay with Richard taking care of her. 

I really appreciated his sense of humor. Even before he moved back to Maryland, I would hear Carol giggling away on the phone upstairs and I knew she was talking to Richard. 

He was such a faithful, solid partner for Carol and a great friend to us all. He was always trying to learn something new, including new languages as they planned trips to Europe. We'll all miss him a lot!   Jean

So sorry to hear and only an hour from Ellicott City where l live.  Can't come up, wife in hospital here w/pneumonia.
Richard and l were very good friends in LHS ,usually shared lunch and study hall together.  He helped me a lot with my studies.
I know he will be missed and the only thing l can offer is to enjoy your memories of him.  It helps to lessen the pain of loss.

I am so sad to hear about Uncle Rich. He was so nice and fun to hangout with. I am going to miss Maryland and Delaware trips with him. I still wear the orange nantucket shirt he gave me when we came to Maryland. Love you Aunt Carol my prayers and condolences are with you ❤️❤️❤️
