Dear Dael Family,

I am so sorry to hear of Bob's passing. I was one of his vendors from The Columbia Bank. I worked very closely with him back in those days and always enjoyed working with him. May be memory always continue to be a blessing to your family, and bring a smile to your face.

There are many words that come to mind when describing Bob Dael, but the ones that stand out, are that he was family centered, caring, positive, generous, loved sports and his music.

The marriage of Susan and Matthew allowed our family to experience Bob’s generosity and kindness. He was always willing to engage in inspiring conversations. He told wonderful stories and shared his knowledge on various subjects. It truly was a pleasure to have known him, if only for a short time. His passing is a tremendous loss, but his memory will live on in all of us.

Dear Ellen,

Debbie and I are sorry to hear about Bob’s passing.

Bob was a great friend and business colleague at The Columbia Bank. He was very creative and knew how to make things happen. I remember Bob asking if we wanted a debit card for the bank when the bank was months old. Others may have know that this was possible, but Bob brought it up. Shortly thereafter the bank had a debit card. Who knew! There were other similar ideas that Bob came up with that moved the bank forward much faster than expected.

You can thank Bob for a Dunkin Donut store at the Bel Air Town Center. He commented that, after church, there was no place in Bel Air to buy a decent donut. Of course, he was right. Unfortunately, the franchisee eventually crossed Dunkin Donut and the store went away.

Most of all, Bob was simply a very nice guy. Our paths seldom crossed after Columbia Bank, but when they did it was as if we had just seen each other.

He will be missed.

Sincerely,

Chris and Debbie Kurz

I worked with Bob and at meetings and conferences we always liked to share a glass of wine. I remember when we were at a meeting and Bob and his wife Ellen, we were taking a cab to where we were having dinner and it was a scary ride but we made it but always laughed about it afterwards and when we got to our destination we immediately had a drink. Bob was a great person and cared. I will miss him and even though he was retired I would call him and he would help provide insight.

Very sorry for your loss. May loving memories bring you comfort and peace. I knew Bob when I worked at the Federal Reserve Bank and called on the various banks he worked for and with my time spent on the MACHA Advisory Board. I looked forward to our visits and we always talked about our families and what they were involved with. It was very obvious to me that Bob enjoyed his family and was extremely proud of their achievements. I will miss him. Godspeed and rest in peace.

Very sorry for your loss. I worked with Bob in my early days of Banking and stayed in touch with him throughout his career. Shared numerous lunches with Bob through the years up through his time as the head of MACHA. Bob always talked family first, work second.

It must have been fate when Julie won a Raven’s football jersey in Raleigh, NC tailgating for her favorite football team at a local restaurant. The jersey was too big but a perfect fit for her dad, who was an avid fan himself. From biking to football, to Outer Bank, NC beach trips, music festivals, family traditions and always accepting friends, I am grateful to have met Mr. Dael.

Go Ravens!!
