

Robert “Bob” Harold Gantert passed away peacefully on June 16, 2026, at the age of 84. Beloved Husband of the late Betsy A. Gantert; Devoted father of John Gantert (Debbie) and Neal Gantert (Liesje); Loving grandfather of Caitlyn and Paige Gantert; and Dear brother of Paul Gantert, the late Ruth Couldren, and the late Frances Redcay.
Bob was born on November 17, 1941 on a farm in Lancaster County, PA and spent most of his working life as a foreman at Silvertop Manufacturing Company after a tour in the U.S. Navy (1959-1962). A man of few words, Bob didn’t need words to make his love known; his quiet strength, steady actions and unwavering devotion to his wife and two sons spoke for him throughout his life. He spent his free time in the garden growing vegetables and attended church each Sunday. He was known for his love of travel including family trips to Wildwood Beach and hiking in Shenandoah National Park, indulged in a visit to the casino, and always appreciated dinner at the Golden Corral.
A visitation will take place at Schimunek Funeral Home of Bel Air, Inc., located at 610 W. MacPhail Road, Bel Air, MD, 21014 on Thursday, July 9th, 2026, from 10am to 12pm.
The funeral service will be held at Schimunek Funeral Home of Bel Air, on Thursday, July 9th at 12pm with an internment following at Highview Memorial Gardens, located at 3433 Fallston Rd, Fallston, MD 21047.
In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.
