Roland Leone

On October 13, 2023, Roland Leone, age 88, went to be with his Lord and Savior surrounded by his family. He was the beloved husband of Garnet Leone (nee Starcher); devoted father of Donovan P. Leone, his wife Becky, David M. Leone, his wife Susan, and the late Angela D. Leone; loving grandfather of Bella Leone, Claire Leone, Peyton Leone, Emily Leone; dear brother of Ray, and the late Frank, Tony, Rudy, Ann, Rose, Marie, Palmer, and his twin sister Jean.

Roland served in the US Air Force from 1954-1960 as a weatherman. After leaving the military, he worked as an admissions coordinator for TESST college for over 35 years. Roland was a member of Emmorton Baptist Church and enjoyed Bible study on Sunday mornings. He was a lifetime Orioles and Ravens fan and rarely missed watching a game. Roland loved singing Sinatra and entertaining residents of retirement communities. He was known for his sense of humor, taking long drives with friends, and sitting by the waterfront. He was loving, generous, and a social butterfly and he would talk to anyone. He loved his Italian heritage, cooking Italian food for friends and family.

Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the Schimunek Funeral Home, Inc., 610 W. MacPhail Rd, Bel Air, MD 21014, on Thursday, October 19, 2023, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM. Visitation will also take place at Emmorton Baptist Church, 106 Plumtree Rd, Bel Air, MD 21014, Friday, October 20, 2023 from 9:30 to 10:00AM. Funeral service will follow. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Roland’s name to the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) at www.dav.org, or The Salvation Army at www.salvationarmyusa.org.
