Born in Baltimore City, Rose built a life marked by dedication and resilience. She was a beloved daughter and sister and in November 1963, she married her school sweetheart, Paul Anthony “Tony” Jones. They shared a marriage filled with love and partnership until Tony’s passing in 2001.
Rose had a long and accomplished career as an office administrator and later, manager, of a government optical contracting company. Later in life, she became a very familiar and beloved face in the Bel Air community, working first as a hostess at Bob Evans and then as a cashier for Target for nearly two decades. Her work in both places allowed her to do something that she dearly loved, make new friends daily, and help others. There truly was no such thing as a stranger to Rose, only friends she had not yet met. Her warm presence and caring demeanor left a lasting impression on all she interacted with and encountered.
She was the most amazing mom and an extremely proud and loving grandmother. She spent countless hours on the phone, texting and talking with her sister, and was most at home in the company of her family and friends.
Her strength and tenacity were evident in every aspect of her life, particularly in her courageous ten-year battle with breast cancer.
Rose’s memory will be treasured by those who knew her. Her loss will be profoundly felt by everyone her life touched, most deeply by her family. Her bright presence will not be diminished by death, but magnified by the many that will carry her in their hearts forever.
A memorial mass for Rose will be held Thursday, March 13, 2025 at 10:00 AM at St. Margaret Catholic Church, 141 N. Hickory Avenue, Bel Air, MD 21014. A gathering will be held after Mass at her family’s home.
In lieu of flowers, your thoughts, prayers, and memories are greatly appreciated.
