

Theodore "Teddy" Vlachos succumbed to his illness and receives his angel wings April 8, 2017 at 1:23 pm at Upper Chesapeake Hospital with his sister Tina by his bedside. Teddy was born in Baltimore, Maryland on March 31, 1951 to the late George and Helen Vlachos (nee Williams).
Teddy fought a long and brave battle against multiple illnesses and conditions over the last year with both dignity and grace. He suffered many painful and critical setbacks which he could never seem to fully recover from but never complained. Even though his body worked against him, he never gave up trying to survive. Teddy will be truly missed and remembered by all the Doctors, Nurses, Aides, Wound Care Specialists, Staff Members and Personnel at Upper Chesapeake Hospital in Bel Air, Maryland, who had the pleasure of meeting him and witnessing his bravery and fight first hand, each time he was admitted to the hospital for treatment.
Teddy was the beloved husband of the late Kitsa Vlachos (nee Mitsos) and Godfather to Ashley Cavey. Teddy is preceded in death by his brother George Timothy Vlachos and survived by his three sisters and two brother-in-laws Sharon Blackwell (nee Vlachos) and Tommy Blackwell, Carmen DiDonato (nee Vlachos) and Robert DiDonato and Tina Vlachos. He also leaves behind three nephews Georgie, Jerry, and Stevie, two nieces Theresa and Nicole, six great nephews Michael, Tommy, Stephen, Brandon, Robert, and Jarrett, one great niece Ashley, one great great nephew Damian and two great great nieces Emma and Amara.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather at Schimunek Funeral Home, 610 W. Macphail Road, Bel Air, on Tuesday from 3-5 and 7-9 pm. Interment Bel Air Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Upper Chesapeake Health Center for Wound Care, 510 Upper Chesapeake Drive #409 Bel Air, MD 21014, and Upper Chesapeake Hospital ICU, 500 Upper Chesapeake Drive Bel Air, MD 21014.
