On January 19, 2013, Dr. Thomas Edgar Jordan passed away suddenly. He was the husband of Christine Hatem, father of Aaron Thomas Jordan and Arianna Yoshiko Jordan; brother of John Jordan, Alma Sherwood, Naomi Diggin and the late Ryland Richard Jordan, Jr. and cherished son of Yoshiko Ferguson and the late Ryland Richard Jordan, Sr.

Dr. Jordan graduated from Havre de Grace High School in 1976, the University of Maryland Baltimore County in 1980, and the University of Maryland School of Medicine in 1984. He completed training in Otolaryngology at Duke University and in Plastic Surgery at Georgetown University. He practiced with Drs. Gehris, Jordan, Day and Associates. Dr. Jordan was known for his generosity, thoughtfulness, and optimism. He hosted Christmas parties to honor his operating room colleagues, and commonly helped out the less fortunate members of his church. He honored the teachers at his children’s schools, Harford Day School, Bryn Mawr School, and Gilman School, by frequently donating tickets to Ravens, Orioles, and Terrapin games as well as to the Hippodrome Broadway Series. He lightened the atmosphere in his office with humor, such as recently showing up at his office in full Ravens fan gear, intimidating mask included. He will be dearly missed by the many people he touched in his life.

Dr.Jordan, I know your watching everything thats going on, just like you always did in the past, Im writing you now with a heavy heart because after 12 years with GJD I have chose to move on, things are not the same there without you, there was no more laughter, or jokes or smiles since you left. You and Dr. Gehris made that a wonderful place to work. Ill always remember the way it was when you kept everyone together. I still miss you so much...every day. Just letting you know that tho ive left, ill always keep the memories close . Take care up there in heaven, and watch over your family as im sure you are, they are so strong and beautiful... they really do take after you. Well ill talk to you soon!!!

I called the office yesterday to make an appointment with Dr. Jordan and found out about his passing. Dr. Jordan did surgery on my nose for a sinus problem and also fixed a bump on my nose and did not charge me for the plastic surgery portion. He was always patient and compassionate and went the extra mile for his patients. Doctors like Dr. Jordan are hard to find. He will be missed as a doctor. My condolences to the family.

Dr. Jordan, we were deeply saddened when we heard the news of your passing. My mom, sister, and I sat together in complete shock. You were much more than our doctor. You were a very kind, funny, and generous man. You did so many wonderful things to help others. You were a true inspiration and a close family friend. Courtney has always spoken very highly of you and you always made her feel like part of your family. We are so blessed to have shared so many memories with you and your wonderful family. I know Aaron and Arianna will continue your legacy in whatever path they choose. I will continue to keep your family in my prayers. We love you and miss you.

Christine, Aaron, Arianna, and family, you are always in my thoughts and I hope you are able to find some comfort during these tough times.

My deepest condolences.

I can't believe how much time has passed since you've gone. I still just can't believe it and still somehow feel that you're still here with us. I miss "my buddy" every day and am thankful that I had those four and a half years to work with you. You will forever be missed in my heart Dr. Jordan. God certainly gained another angel.

It's been almost a year since you've been gone but it feels just like yesterday. With it being the holidays were missing you even more, our Christmas party is next and it won't be the same without you. No one to show up late and then to have the staff hoot and holler at. Just know we still think about you often, we share stories often which are always pretty humorous, and you are missed everyday!

I was told today by my dermatologist that Dr. Jordan passed. Dr. Jordan and I spent time together a few years ago in the operating room as he did some plastic surgery to remove a skin cancer on my neck. I was awake the whole time because I ate a pretzel the morning of my surgery and could not therefore be sedated. Dr. Jordan had me take some valium and we talked while he did his work. Such a nice man and did a fine job both during surgery and during the follow up visits. I am sure I am one of many who benefitted from his talents as a doctor and I am thinking of him today and my best wishes to his family.
