Albert E Hoag Sr., age 72, of Warsaw, MO, formerly of Belton, MO passed away after a bout with cancer at home with his wife, Amy Hoag and daughter by his side. He was born in Kansas City, MO to Earl A Hoag and Mary Rosson. He attended Northeast High School KCMO. Albert joined the United States Army Sept. of 1963, he completed basic training and transferred to the Army National Guard serving until 1973. Albert worked for Owens Illinois/Georgia Pacific as an industrial maintenance technician for 20 years. He served on the Belton MO park board for 3 years then was elected as City Councilman, serving 10 years. During his time in Belton he also served on Belton Emergency Management for 10 plus years. Albert was a member of the International Association of Machinist Local 778 for 42 years, member of the American Legion, Lions Club, NRA and H.O.G (Harley owners group). He was active with Belton Historical Society and Assisted Belton Chamber of Commerce. Albert served as Scout leader for his sons Boy Scout troop and leader for his daughters Girl Scout troop. He loved hunting, fishing, riding his Harley and spending time with his family. Predeceased by his parents, first wife Ezula Hoag, grandson Richard "RAPP" Porter. Survivors, wife Amy Hoag; son Albert E Hoag Jr, Warrensburg MO; daughters Nicole Couts-Coleman, Gladstone MO and Tammy "Runt" Hoag, Kansas City MO; 6 grandkids; 4 great grandkids; numerous nieces and nephews. Personal attributes: Al was very loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was very respected by the citizens of Belton whom he worked very hard for to improve their community from helping with the flood project in Ward 3 to anonymously paying utility bills for citizens that were unable to afford it. During his time in Belton he was very involved with all things related to the city and worked hard to make improvements. He worked closely with Belton Fire and Police to help give them the tools to do the best job possible for their community. Visitation 10-11 am, Service 11:00 am Saturday, December 8 at the Belton Christian Church, 409 Airway Lane. Pastor Daniel Yoder with Church of the Living Water, Warsaw MO. Burial immediately following service with a procession to Mount Auburn Cemetery in St Joseph MO. Pallbearers Albert E Hoag Jr, Jacob Couts, Thomas F Heffernan, Thomas A Heffernan, Bill Campbell, Bobby Davidson, Ricky Ade. Honorary pallbearer Jimmy Ade and Christopher Mallon. Memorials in lieu of flowers to Ronald McDonald Children's Charities or Hope Lodge Kansas City MO associated with American Cancer Society.
