Ben was my neighbor at Palmer ave.  And I loved his war stories, Soo much that I spent all my time helping add pictures and additional memories to his book (Olive Drab) we would spend hours looking for pictures online that we cold drop on the computer version of his typed story.
The first hero I've ever met and I will always love him for what his been through, the love he had for Vicky, this country and Jesus, I helped him hang the Jesus in his sun room.
I'm sorry if all his work on his book has been lost or remains unpublished but it's a great book. He spent many years working on it.
He wanted to leave something extra for the family and that book was it.
I have the recordings I've made of his story.  Told by Vicky herself as Ben was shy about his voice on the recording.
I made him some CDs of those recording for him, his family and his friends at the Hillcrest community center.
I want to post his D-Day landing on YouTube chapters 16 Overlord D-Day June 6th 1944 & 17 Pushing Ahead.

May I Please? He was proud of that moment! His only true fear was not making it back to Vicky.
And she's telling the story.
My love to the Alvarado Family and a huge thank you for the help you provided me at my time of need.
It's been 19 yrs since my wife's loss and I'm still hanging on... Strongest since.
Wouldn't have survived my loss without Ben and Vicky.  Forever grateful.


I admire his love for God, Country, and Family.  I wish we had more men like this in the world today.
God bless him and we are thankful for his lifetime of sacrifices.

I am grateful for the life of Mr. Alvarado.  Thanks to his service and to the service of others in our armed forces, my family and I have been able to lead our lives in freedom and peace.
