Betty Irene Jursch, age 92, of Belton, MO passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus February 24, 2021, surrounded by her loving and devoted family. She was born to John and Frances Butler in 1928 and raised in the Marlborough neighborhood of Kansas City, Missouri, graduating from Center High School in 1947. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother John Butler and sister Elnora Clark. In 1948, she met and married the love of her life, George Jursch. They lived in the Raymore and south Kansas City area until 1954 when they found their "forever" home in Belton, MO, where they raised their daughter, Nancy and son Jim. She was a member of the original First Baptist Church of Belton and later South Haven. She spent her working career as an accountant for the IRS, Oakwood Country Club, Fleetwood and Cable Chevrolet dealerships retiring in 1988. She was active in many Belton organizations during her long life, but most notably Elizabeth Chapter #142, Order of the Eastern Stars, which she devoted more than 50 years, many of those in a leadership role. She loved to cook, with baked goods her specialty, loved to travel the country, especially with her children and grandchildren, and spent many days over the last 40 years camping and fishing at Stockton/Truman Lakes where she could always be counted on to catch more fish than anyone with her. She has had an overwhelming positive impact on so many lives over the years and her bucket was overflowing with the wonderful friendships she has made. Her family will miss her dearly for the rest of their lives and are so grateful to her for the life lessons, love, help, sharing and caring that she provided to all of us.
She is survived by her husband of 72 wonderful years, George Jursch; daughter Nancy Turner (John); son Jim Jursch (Lisa Janner); grandchildren Wendy Turner, Wesley Turner, Jackie Jursch, and great grandchildren Jon and Isabella; sister-in-law Rita Jursch; brother/sister-in-law Harry and Barbara Jursch and many nieces and nephews, all who were very special to her.
