Christina Marie Scott

On Saturday, January 9th, 2021, Christina Marie Scott joined her Father in Heaven. She enjoyed 63 years of life, 43 years of which she lived happily married to her teenage friend and sweetheart, Brian, working and learning together to raise 5 children, build a life and a home, and enjoy living and growing together.

Chris was born on October 25th, 1957, to father Bill, and mother Julie, in Wichita KS. She and younger sisters Debbie and Kim grew-up in the North Kansas City area. Chris met her husband, Brian while working together at Washington Street Station and they were married on June 4, 1977. She worked for the Social Security Agency for many years, retiring in 1987 to stay home with their children and begin a homeschooling career, where she could pour her love and faith into her kids.

Chris and Brian wove their life together with very dear friends, teaching their children together, and sharing love, fellowship, music, dance, 'dult nights, Chiefs, birthdays and holidays. Chris loved loving others! She cared so greatly for so many! She was intricately involved in her children's' dance studio, working joyfully and expertly as secretary for several years. At home, she and her husband loved to spend their time together watching their favorite shows, puttering around the house, thinking and planning for the future, sitting outside, listening to music, and watching the hummingbirds.

Preceded in death by her father, step-father, mother, and sister; Chris is survived by her loving husband Brian, sister Kim, children Ian (wife Maria), Jeremy (wife Melissa), Tara (husband James), Jeffrey, and Eleanor (husband Andrew), her beloved grandchildren, her nieces and nephews, and her many, many cherished friends and extended family.

Chris was always helping someone. As long as I’ve known her she was ready to greet me and my sisters with a hug and a kiss. She took care of people, and it truly brought her joy to see others succeed. I remember going over to hang out with the kids, and Chris was always eager to feed us, chat with us or let us use any part of the house for making movie shenanigans or playing games. She loved her kids. Like really loved them. She delighted in everything they did. She bragged about them constantly. She encouraged and allowed them each to shine in their unique talents. When I was over there, I got to be one of her kids too.

I am so sad about the death of Chris. My thoughts and prayers are with you Brian and your family. Chris and I started our job at Social Security on the same day. I enjoyed her as a friend and coworker. I didn't see her so much in the recent years but still felt close to her seeing her life on Facebook. Always a kind word and it was so apparent how much she loved ❤ and enjoyed her family especially your grandchildren. Take care and find comfort in all your wonderful memories. Love, Kathy Morton

I remember some time ago Brian and Chris brought Tera over to babysit for us. Chris was telling Tera to do this, or do that, or what to do if... she so wanted Tera to succeed. And then the huge commitment she made to home school 5 kids! I remember Chris as a woman who totally poured into her children and family, a shining example of what this world needs more of.

She will be missed
