Daniel Ellis of Belton, MO passed away surrounded by his family in his home on July 25, 2016 at 12:04 pm after fighting a long battle with cancer. Daniel was born November 30, 1952 in Independence, Missouri to Daniel and Katherine Ellis.

He leaves behind his wife of 32 years, Karen Ellis and a legacy of 3 daughters, Cheryl Drury, Stephanie Reach and Jennifer Ellis and a step daughter Stacey Brook. Daniel was self-employed through the years as a well-known house painter, but his real passion was jamming out to his bass guitar every chance he got. He started playing in his first band at the age of 15 years old with his school buddies. From then on his love for music grew. He played everything to old rock n roll to the new age rock and country. Every time he jammed out with his guitar you would see such magic and love for his lifelong passion. Daniel was not only a son, husband, Navy Vet, father and grandfather, but a true inspiration to everyone he knew and met. Through his music and his love for his family Daniel will forever be remembered as a heartwarming, generous wondering man who just wanted to change the world with the sound of music. As he always use to say, “Music is the moonlight in the gloomy night of life”. He will forever be missed and loved.
