Don was born November 19, 1934 in Belton, Missouri to Chester M. and Doris B. (Cole) Bishop. He married Dorothy Thornton in 1954. They had three children together and separated 25 years later.
Don married his soulmate Sherry Greer on January 25, 1979 in Las Vegas, Nevada. That union lasted for forty-four years until his passing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two aunts and two uncles. Don is survived by his wife Sherry Bishop of the home; son Doug (Jo) Bishop of Rockaway Beach, Missouri; son Bill (Holly) Bishop of Belton, Missouri; daughter Vicki (Dave) Coleman of Belton, Missouri; step-daughter Dawna (Todd) Brisebois of Huntington, Massachusetts; step-son Bill (Michelle) Johnson of Aubrey, Texas; 19 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

A visitation for Donald will be held Friday, March 10, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at McGilley & George Funeral Home, 12913 Grandview Road, Grandview, MO 64030. The funeral service will be on Saturday, March 11, 2023 at 1:00 PM at the funeral home, followed by burial at 2:00 PM at Belton Cemetery, 710 S. Scott Ave., Belton, MO 64012.
