

Donald Gene Hankins passed away at his home in Belton, MO, July 15, 2010. Memorial service 7 p.m., Tuesday, July 20. Visitation 6 p.m., until service, and afterwards until 8 p.m., McGilley & George Funeral Home, 611 Chestnut, Belton, MO. Contributions may be made to KC Hospice. Donald was born, April 11, 1928, in Kansas City, KS, along with twin brother, Ronald, to Stephen Franklin Hankins and Ida Mae Louise Angel Hankins. He was a Navy Veteran from WWII and a VFW member in Belton. He was a Foreman for Steel Constructors and a member of Local 10. He loved to fish and was a great story-teller. Donald was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Ruth Hankins; son, Bruce Stillings Hankins; daughter, Dawna Hankins Salem; brother, Ronald Hankins; and sister, Pauline Greenwell. He is survived by his sons, Steve Stillings Hankins, of AZ, and Steve Hankins, of Ohio; daughters Robin Bracken, Freeman, MO, and Sandra Van Eaton, Belton, MO; and 17 grandchildren, and 20 great grandchildren; brother, Robert Hankins, Eureka Springs, AR; and sister, Charlene Tunnell, St. Ann, MO.
