

Franklin D. Rice, 80, of Belton, MO passed away June 24, 2014 in Kansas City, MO. Visitation will be 6-8 pm Friday, June 27, funeral service at 11:00 am Saturday, June 28 at McGilley & George Funeral Home in Belton. Burial with Military Honors in the Belton Cemetery. Frank was born October 30, 1933 in Robinette, W. VA to George and Ruth (Steward) Rice. He was a Korean War Veteran serving in the U.S. Army from Sept. 1949 - Oct. 1952 earning many honors, including 2 Purple Hearts, the Silver Star, the Bronze Star and Combat Infantry Badge, among many others. Frank served as a Commander of the Kansas City, MO Korean War Veterans Assoc. and was a lifetime member of the Military Order of the Purple Heart. He was a driver for Ringsby & PIE for 38 years, retiring in 1990, and a member of Teamsters Local 41.
Preceded in death by his parents and brother, Ernest Rice. Survived by his wife, Anna; 3 children, Scott, LaLani and Brian; 3 brothers, Jack Rice, Bill Rice, Donald Ray Rice; 2 sisters, Aggie Brunty and Linda Pennington.
