Helen C. Knowles

Helen C. Knowles stayed good to her word and made it to 100. She passed away May 18, 2022 at Beautiful Savior Nursing Home in Belton Missouri. She was born April 28, 1922 in West Minister, South Carolina to Jessie Milton Cox and Eulala Lee Kennedy Cox.

She married the love of her life Jessie W. Knowles on June 21, 1962. They were devoted to each other and lived a blessed life together raising her four beautiful daughters from a previous marriage together until his passing in April of 1984. She was not only a dedicated and loving wife and mother but also Aunt, grandmother of seven, great grandmother of 18, and great great grandmother of 18. She was kind and generous to everyone she met and would never leave anyone in need. She was deeply loved by all who knew her. Helen could tell a story better than any author could. She loved to share the wisdom she had learned and her experiences over the years with all who would listen leaving a lasting impression on their hearts.

Helen loved gardening both flowers and vegetables. Her home was always surrounded by beautiful flowers and she had the biggest vegetable garden in her neighborhood. She loved and spent many hours crocheting the most beautiful Afghans and baby items. Helen loved the 4th of July and would spend a small fortune on fireworks for her family to blow up the neighborhood while she happily watched. She drove her family crazy with her love for TV evangelists and WWE wrestling and she loved every bit of their suffering thru them.

While we are saddened by her passing, we know she is celebrating with all her loved ones in Heaven and telling more of her stories. We also have no doubt that she will continue to watch over us all as our guardian angel. She left us with some wonderful memories and stories to tell and are so glad we were blessed to have her in our lives.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 22 years Jessie W. Knowles, daughters Lynne Lewis, Vicki Russell and Brenda Higgins. She is survived by daughter Pat McKain; 7 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren and 18 great great grandchildren.
