

Jack P. McCartney, born in St. Louis, Missouri to Frank and Elizabeth McCartney August 24, 1926, passed December 24, 2013. Jack graduated from North Platte high school in Nebraska, where he was an all star athlete in multiple sports winning many medals and awards. After high school, he joined the Navy and served during WWII. Upon his return from the war he went to the University of Nebraska to earn his bachelor’s degree in business.
Jack was preceded in death by his son Kevin McCartney. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Kathryn McCartney; daughter Cynthia and husband Chris; son Kelly and wife Janel; three grandchildren, Julia, Trent, and Grant, and one great grandchild Lela. He was a loving wonderful man that always put his family first. Jack had a quick wit and wonderful sense of humor, and was loved by all.
Visitation will be 12-1 pm, with funeral service beginning at 1:00 pm Sat. Jan. 4 at McGilley & George Funeral Home 611 Chestnut, Belton MO.
