

Jeanette Marie Jesseph Jeffers of Grandview, Missouri passed away December 5, 2021. Jeanette was born in Newport, Arkansas to Captain Albert W. Jesseph, Sr. and Mrs. Marie Hurst Jesseph. She was the oldest of six children, graduating valedictorian from Yates Center High School, Yates Center, Kansas, where she was active in music. She married Ronald Jeffers and they started a family in Wichita, Kansas, with their only child, Shawn Alane Jeffers Scott. Jeanette received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (RN) from WSU in 1967. She later obtained a Masters Degree in Nursing and a PhD in Education. She went on to build a career in nursing for nearly 50 years, touching countless lives as she dedicated her life to nursing and helping others. Her career spanned Chanute and Wichita, Kansas, Kansas City, and Bardstown, Kentucky. Her work included positions in both private and public health, as well as developing nursing programs and teaching advanced programs at various institutions. Always an overachiever, she gave tirelessly of herself serving on boards and fundraising, while publishing numerous articles.
Jeanette is survived by her granddaughters Sydney and Peyton Scott of Louisville, KY, brothers Wayne (Karen) Jesseph Yates Center, KS, Glenn (Pat) Jesseph Cleveland, MO, and Grady (Leann) Jesseph, Olathe, KS, and sister Tracy Forsyth (Mike) Cleveland, MO. She had a way of bringing fun to any family gathering and will be missed by her many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband Ron, daughter Shawn, parents Albert and Marie, and sister Cindy Wells.
The family plans a private memorial.
