Our deepest condolences go to your family at the loss of Matthew.  Our daughter played softball with Ashley and I fondly remember Matthew as the great soccer player and "moms' buddy.  He will forever hold a memory to us. - The Leive Family, Basehor, Kansas

Matt I always looked at you like a cousin. We always got asked throughout our education if we had any relations because of the same last name and we would always tell people we were actually cousins even though we werent lol. You were always a close friend to me and always a good locker partner too. I will miss you cuz and you will always be in my heart. My heart goes out to the Ratterree family and I hope you all get through this rough point of time in life

Matt you will missed by all who knew you,but not forgotten. Every time we saw you, there was that permanent smile on your face that will always be with us. May God be with your family through this time.

Matt was a wonderful person who will be missed greatly by all who knew him.  Matt had a smile for me every day in class and could always make me laugh.  Words really cannot express how sorry I am for the Ratteree family at the loss of your beloved son and brother.  I will always remember Matt as one of my favorite students.

Only got to meet you once. But that one time I saw you I knew you were a great guy. Rest in peace, Matt. You will be missed by many. My prayers are with his family and friends.

There are not words to express our sorrow at hearing of Matts passing. He truly was an amazing young man. He touched the lives of all that knew him! His smile could light up a room and that image of him will live in our hearts forever!!

Matt was one of the few people I considered an actual friend in my senior year of high school. We had many classes together and both pursued lives in the military after graduation.I'm thankful to have had the opportunity to call Matthew my friend and my fellow brother in arms. May he rest and find peace. As for the family, take great pride in being able to call Matthew one of your own.He will most definitely be missed, but not forgotten. He was incredibly intelligent, yet witty. Forever he will be in our hearts and minds.

I was saddened to hear of Matthews’s death because he was always such a good person.  

He used to live down the street from me when he was in Gladden Elementary and my daughter would pay him $2.00 a week to walk my granddaughter home from school.  

He was such a sweetheart and he was always my favorite of my grandson, Tyler Krei’s, friends. 

He will be missed so much by all who knew him and my prayers are with his friends and family as we all remember his sweetness and kindness.

“Some people come into our lives, make footprints on our hearts and we are never the same.”  He is one of those people.

Matt was a very nice and smart young man.  I will miss him and his humor.  God bless and be with his family at this time.
