Milton Jerome Younger, 60, of Raymore, passed away on January 14, 2019 at Menorah Medical Center, and joined his loving parents, Margaret and James Younger, and his two older brothers, Percy and James Jr. in Heaven. Born in Washington, D.C. on a hot and steamy August day in 1958, Jerome was the fourth of seven children to Margaret and James Younger. Jerome proudly served our country as a United States Marine from November 1976 to June 1987. While Jerome despised being on boats, he enjoyed his time travelling the world and watching over his fellow Marines. Jerome loved drinking beer (and was saddened when he could no longer find his dear Michelob Dry), bowling with friends, listening to music (especially The Eagles, Rush, Queen, Journey, Billy Joel, Elton John, Mantronix, Beastie Boys, Run DMC, Eminem, and Tupac), playing Texas Hold ‘Em with his VFW veteran friends, driving his Cadillac, hitting a round of golf, and watching ESPN and the History channel.
Jerome entered Heaven hearing Cathy, his beautifully strong wife of almost forty years, remind him of the love, care, strength, and happiness he brought into the lives of many. He was also the proud father of four amazing kids: Jason Petersen, Cynthia Younger, Christine Younger, and Cole Younger. He was also happy to have seen eight wonderful grandchildren enter this world: Cameron, Brandon, Jaedynne, Dominnick, Alexa, Katelyn, Madelyn, and Olivia. He also enjoyed getting to know his two fantastic daughters-in-law, Danielle Petersen (wife of Jason) and Kylie Hoem (partner of Cole Younger). He also sadly leaves behind the families of four loving siblings: Margaret Elliott, Michael Younger, Marion Younger, Gordon Younger. He also leaves behind his best friend (and brother from another mother), Douglas Botsford.
Family and friends are invited to the visitation at 9 a.m. Friday, January 18 at McGilley and George Funeral Home, 611 Chestnut Street, Belton, Missouri. Services to follow immediately after visitation at 11 a.m. with outdoor military honors to conclude the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Jerome’s honor to one of the following important charities, National Kidney Foundation or Multiple Myeloma Cancer Research.
