was a shock to hear about gene... we were good friends in grade school and high school and did many things together. especially neighborhood sports. he was game for just about anything! after high school we went our separate ways as life often does. one time gene, myself, and another buddy had a car race to another town where we were going to meet up. our buddy drove a big engine chevy, myself a 6 cylinder duster, and gene his ford falcon. the chevy came in first, me second, and after a long, long period here comes ole-gene!! we were really beginning to worry about him and thought about back tracking to see if he broke down or something! well anyway we had fun... sorry I won't make it to his gathering Saturday, but he will always be in my thoughts.... larry kircher

So saddened to hear about Gene's death. We were Baptist "brats" together in Sunday School class for many years and graduated together. He was a good friend. So sorry for the family loss.

Gene was one of the most caring men that I ever met. He was kind and generous and did not think twice about helping someone in need. We all went on vacation to the beach last year. You could see his eyes light up like a child when he looked at the ocean. It was a pleasure to know him . The world has lost a great man. RIP Gene! Until we meet again my friend. xoxo
