He was born July, 03, 1933 in Miami Station, Missouri to Otto Oscar Henderson and Rebecca Ann Gibson Henderson. After graduating high school in Carrollton, Missouri, he served two years in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. After the war, he worked for the Operating Engineers. He married Darlene Boardman on September 14, 1956, and they settled in Belton, Missouri. Bob and Darlene celebrated 65 years of marriage in September of this year. Bob was a very active member of the Knights of Columbus. Bob was also very involved with the Uplift Organization Inc. He fed and handed out socks and coats to the homeless. Bob enjoyed helping other people. He loved being outdoors: hunting, fishing, camping and boating with friends and family.
Bob was a fun loving and ornery family man. He was predeceased in death by his parents, his brother, Jim Henderson and his sisters: Doris Busby, Mary Smithpeter, and Martha Gregg. Survivors include his wife, Darlene, daughter Dawn Bishop and husband Terry, son, Brian Henderson, and daughter Jami Harrison and husband Doug. Bob’s sister Charlotte Sullivan and brother Tom Henderson also survive him. Bob has six grandchildren, Danae Ring, Cory Bishop, Justin Harrison, Cameron Harrison, Corissa Threadgill, and Parker Harrison. He also has 10 great grandchildren.
