
Rodney Odale Davis of Belton, MO, born March 18, 1930, passed away peacefully on August 2, 2013. He grew up in Bauxite, Arkansas, graduating from Bryant High School in 1948. After high school, he enlisted in the United States Air Force on November 5, 1948. During his nearly 27-year active duty career serving as a Logistics Supervisor, he traveled the world. While stationed in Germany, he met his wife of 63 years, Ina (Jager). After a brief courtship, they married on September 7, 1950. He finished his first career at Richards-Gebaur AFB, retiring from the USAF on June 1, 1975. Rodney then worked for the United States Marine Corps in the Reserve Support Center. He worked full time there until well after his 80th birthday, retiring in July of 2010. Rodney is preceded in death by his daughter, Elaine and sisters Jewell Wall and Ruby Anderson. He leaves his wife, Ina, of the home; sons Robert (Twila), Michael (Becky) and Steven; grandchildren Twila Ann, Jeffrey, Russell, Mary (Phillip) Wilson, and Evalina (Sean) Domerese; along with three great- grandchildren, Michael Wilson, and Sean and Alaina Domerese; sisters Florene Woodham, Pauline (Tommy) Melton, Linda (Eugene) Branum; and brothers Kenneth (Barbara) and Curtis (Ellen). Visitation will be Thursday, August 8 at 1 p.m., with services at 2 p.m., McGilley and George Funeral Home, 611 Chestnut, Belton, MO 64012. Internment immediately following at Belton Cemetery.
