

Albert was born in Brooklyn, New York to Albert J. and Nancy (Nunziata Fonte) Milian on October 6, 1941. He went to high school at Brooklyn Prep where he played football and track, graduating in 1959. He attended college at Zavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio, enrolling in Army ROTC before graduating in 1963, eventually earning 2 master’s degrees from C.W. Post College, now Long Island University, in New York. He served in the United States Army as a First Lieutenant in the Transportation Corp in Vicenza, Italy from 1964 to 1966, while also playing shortstop for an Italian baseball team. After returning to the US, he began his teaching career at his old high school, Brooklyn Prep, for 3 years, and offensive coordinator for the football team at Kings Point Merchant Marine Academy in Nassau County, New York. He was employed as a teacher of American History/Social Studies and coach of many sports, including football, track, cross country, girls’ basketball and volleyball, for Connetquot Central School District in Suffolk County, New York at Ronkonkoma Junior High School for 33 years. Throughout his teaching career, he was a self-employed commercial clammer, deck builder, and videographer/editor, beginning with Pro Image Studios in Islandia, NY where he learned the craft and then in turn taught his students. He loved boating and fishing. After his retirement in 2003, he split his time between Center Moriches, New York and Homosassa, Florida filming and editing fishing shows and then also producing Nature Coast Outdoors in Homosassa, Florida broadcast on WYKE in Crystal River. In 2015 he began teaching and facilitating court ordered groups with his daughter, Holly, in their shared business Second Chance Educational Counseling Services in Lecanto. He was a member of and sponsor in Alcoholics Anonymous since December 1987.
He is survived by his daughter Holly and her husband Al Crisera, of Silver Springs, FL, son Greg Milian of Beverly Hills, FL, daughter Heather Scibelli of Williston Park, NY, and former spouse, LeAnne Milian of Beverly Hills, FL. He leaves behind 4 grandchildren, Deanna (Justin) Dobbs, Anthony (Rose Marie) Crisera, Anthony Scibelli, Jessica Scibelli, and a great grandchild, Cody Dobbs.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at 11am at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church at 6 Roosevelt Blvd, Beverly Hills, FL 34465. Burial at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell to be determined later.
