Aldo was predeceased by his wife of 35 years, Anita (Goodman). He is lovingly remembered by his surviving daughter Linda Tambini and his son Steven Tambini and his son’s wife Laura (Neubauer) Tambini. Continuing his legacy are Aldo’s three grandchildren Michael Tambini, Christine Tambini, and Gregory Tambini. He was also predeceased by his second wife of 5 years, Florence (McLaughlin).
Aldo was known by family and friends as a thoughtful and studious man of high character, commitment, and faith. He grew up in Manhattan, the son first generation immigrants seeking the promise of opportunity in America. Despite growing up during the great depression, he always had fond memories of his youth - from playing stick ball in the streets to sitting on one of the iconic lion statues on the front steps of New York City Library and watching the historic WWII victory parade down 5th Avenue in 1946. He became the first of his family to enter college and graduated from the Ivy League’s Columbia University.
Aldo was a wartime army veteran of the Korean War serving as military police in the 2nd Infantry at front lines in 1951. He returned to Manhattan after the war and started his career working for a major New York financial district insurance firm, and married Anita in 1956. Although Aldo grew up in the city, he had a love for everything outdoors – mountains, oceans, lakes, rivers, and wildlife and he shared that passion with his family who continue to benefit from his life lessons about our delicate relationship with nature.
After working over 30 years in his insurance career and raising a family on Long Island NY, Aldo and Anita retired to Florida. There, Aldo had more time to enjoy his trail hiking, canoeing, fishing, ballroom dancing, and golfing hobbies. In 2020, Aldo returned to the northeast to live in Southampton, NJ. There he spent time with his family enjoying the Jersey Shore and exploring nature in the Pinelands of New Jersey.
He will be laid to rest with his wife Anita, and his parents Mary and Augusto Tambini, in Beverly Hills, FL. Per his wishes, there are no services for Mr. Tambini.
