Augostino J. Romano Jr.

Augostino J. Romano, Jr., 73, of Dunnellon, FL, passed away on Tues., April 5, 2011 at his home. A native of Bronx, NY, he was born May 16, 1937 to Augostino Sr. and Cervita (Spignesi) Romano and moved to Dunnellon in 2001 from Staten Island, NY. Mr. Romano was a retired member of security with Seaview Hospital and Home Health & Hospitals Corp. for the City of New York. He was of the Roman Catholic faith and enjoyed horse racing, playing lotteries, and shooting pool with his friends at his nearby Rainbow Springs community in Dunnellon. He is survived by his wife of nearly 53 years, Joyce D. Romano of Dunnellon, FL; sons Donald (Eileen) and David (Dawn) Romano; daughters Diane DeMartins (Matthew) and Donna Jean Romano, all of Staten Island, NY; daughter Debra Romano-Haataja (Janne) of Ylojarvi, Finland and daughter Darlene Romano; brother Dario "Danny" Romano of California; grandchildren Tara, Brianna, David, Cody, Christopher, Stephen, Lotta, Jann-Peter, Nicole, Matthew, Joseph, Angela and Michael and great grandchildren Kaitlyn and Jacob. Mr. Romano was preceded in death by four sisters; Gemma, Giovanna, Silveria and Egidia and a brother, Michael.
