Barry D. Harvey

Barry David Harvey, 88, of Citrus Springs, FL, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 11, 2026 at The Grove Health and Rehabilitation Center in Hernando, FL. A native of St. Francis, ME, he was born Aug. 9, 1938 to Wilmer and Geraldine (Ouellette) Harvey, one of five children. Barry served his country honorable and proudly in the United States Army from 1957 to 1960. Mr. Harvey was a long time member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW), and held several positions with his work in the union. He moved to Citrus Springs ten years ago from Westerly, RI, where he had lived for 35 years, and was of the Roman Catholic faith. Barry was a Life Member of both VFW Post #4864, Citrus Springs, FL and American Legion Post #237, Beverly Hills, FL; also a Life Member and Service Officer of DAV Post #158, Crystal River, FL as well as Past Member of Citrus County All Veterans Honor Guard; member of Moose Club 1662-2308, Dunnellon, FL; member of Moose Club 1662-2308, Dunnellon, FL; Life Member of Bradford Citizens Club, Bradford, RI; retired member of IBEW LU 104, Boston, MA and retired member of Carpenters Union Local 24, Wallingford, CT. When Barry was younger, he enjoyed flying planes and boating. In his later days, he always enjoyed spending much of his time with family and friends, making people smile; he also loved playing with his two puppies, Daisy and Dorie. In addition to his parents, Barry was preceded in death by two brothers, Bill and Marshall Harvey. He is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Debra B. Harvey, Citrus Springs, FL; daughter Kelly Kochanowski (husband Greg), Agoura Hills, CA; stepson Scott Tate (wife Christine), Ashaway, RI and stepson Peter (wife Lynn), Singapore; granddaughter Ava Kochanowski, Agoura Hills, CA; brother Jan Harvey (wife Betty), Seekonk, MA and sister Erin Harvey, Concord, CA. A Celebration of Life will take place on Sat., Oct. 24, 2026 at 2:00 P.M. at the Moose Club 1662-2308 in Dunnellon. Military Honors will commence at 10:30 A.M. on Tues., Oct. 27, 2026 at 10:30 AM at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL. Services entrusted to Fero Funeral Home & Life Celebration Center, Beverly Hills, FL.
