Bertha was born in West Charleston, VT to Lester and Margaret Holmes on December 29, 1929.
She worked at Travelers Insurance Co. and The Marlborough Country Barn as a bookkeeper for many years. She enjoyed playing golf and playing cards with her friends. She was a past president of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 197 and a life member of the VFW Post 4864.
Bertha is survived by her sons Alan (Linda) of Andover, CT, and Billy (Lori) of West Charleston, VT. She had 7 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband Stanley, sons Greg and Randy, and great grandson Brandon.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Community Congregational Church of Citrus Springs on Sunday November 8, 2026, at 11:30 AM with Rev. Brian Fortig.
Burial will be in Derby, VT in the spring.
