Born in Norwalk, CT on October 19, 1950 to Martin Hertz & Alice Beauchemin. He graduated from Radford High School, Radford, VA in 1969 and joined the U.S. Air Force in 1969 to 1973. After leaving the service he went to work for the Otis A.F. Base Fire Dept., Bourne, MA. Serving 28 yrs. and retired in December 2000, as a Captain/ EMT with a total service of 32 yrs.
Bruce is preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Alan & Michael. He is survived by his wife of 45 yrs., Sharon A. Hertz, a Sister Loretta Hertz Morgan & (husband) Jack, Granddaughter Kyra L. Broome and (husband) Anthony; Nieces: Stephanie Bray & (husband) Pete, Becky Hertz; Nephews: Aaron Hertz & (wife) Krista, Jack Morgan & (wife) Haley, Marty Morgan, Logan & Lucas.
He was a member of VFW Post 4864, Citrus Springs, served as Post Quartermaster & Post Commander, before serving as VFW District 7 Commander for 2 yrs.
Bruce will be deeply missed by his family and friends. He touched so many people in his life.
