Carol S. Dabrowski, 75, passed away on November 28, 2019 at Citrus Health and Rehabilitation Center in Florida, with her sister Susan by her side. Carol was born on December 16, 1943, in Durham, NC, the daughter of the late Col. Elwin F Holmes and Frances Sue Poe. She grew up in an Air Force family and was the oldest of 4 siblings. Carol worked in the financial field, at Dowty Aerospace, in retail and was a small business entrepreneur. Carol was a beautiful person with a loving heart who loved bringing joy to others. She was fun while mischievous and Elvis was King in her book. Carol loved her animals as much as she loved her family. Her best friend was her husband George. Their adventures took them from Maryland’s Eastern Shore of craft shows, boating and Chincoteague pony owners to the retired life of The Villages in Florida. Carol left a note stuck inside a framed photograph of her father. “To Dad. I love you. I have Alzheimer’s but my husband takes care of me. Please come to me in a dream.” Carol’s Alzheimer’s took away the special characteristics those close to her cherished. It’s been a long good-bye. We will always carry the memory of the caring, fun loving and smiling Carol in our hearts. Carol is preceded in death by her second husband, George Dabrowski. She is survived by her children, Marilyn Prisock, Marcy Oyler, Christine Kirtley and David (Tricia) Kirtley Jr. from her first marriage to David Kirtley. She is survived by George Dabrowski ‘s children Michael Dabrowski (Tim Blunt) and Deborah (James) Aiken. Carol is also survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Carol is survived by her sisters, Susan (Gary) McPheters, Sherry (Scott) Brody and Beverly (James) Turner. Funeral services will be at Arlington National Cemetery. The date is to be determined.

My sweet sister Carol, I was so fortunate to have you as my sister. We had so much fun, we laughed a lot and shared so many secrets. You are my best friend. I will hold our memories in my heart forever.
You are with Mom, Dad, George and Roxy now. The love you have in heaven is as strong as the love I have for you, the love your sisters Sherry and Bevi have for you on earth.
You are my angel, spread your wings and give me a hug. I need this so.
I will always be your Soup. One day we will be together again.
