"Excuse me sir, could I ask you a few questions about Oak Run?" I remember saying out of my car window when we were looking for a new home. A few hours later I was still engaged with hiz honor. Clive was never at a loss for words. It seems strange not to see the Union Jack flutter past as he went on another patrol. May he rest in peace. Love and condolences to Carolee.

Clive, you were our guy.  We cherish the time we spent, the conversations we had, the laughs we shared and the perspective we gained in your presence. You lived life so genuinely, inclusively, a no frills kind of soul who let us know up front that we mattered. You are imbedded in our memories and hearts.

When I first met Clive he introduced himself as “the mayor of Eagles Point” and handed me a card  – Clive Carter, Consultant on Everything (except mechanical issues). And he delivered . . . everything from lawn mowing folks to gutter leaf guards. He'll be missed. . . . . . . as will the lawn chair in the driveway.

Clive, the Mayor of Oak Run, will be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor and timing, plus his ability to solve the day's problems.  He could see the sun shine on a cloudy day.

Clive was a HUGE Humphrey Bogart fan, as everyone knew.  so, when my hubby & i were in Casablanca, Morocco, last summer, we ate lunch at Rick's American Cafe (Bogart's hangout)& I stole the menu for Clive. that's the least you can do for a friend!!!!   bert alberti
