Dean Carhoun passed away peacefully in hospice care on December 23, 2019.
He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Mary (McGurn/Kydd) Carhoun. He also was a proud father to Kristina Kydd (Krissy) of Florida and son & daughter in law Scott & Robin Kydd of Virginia. Dean was an adoring grandfather to his three grandchildren, Ryan Powers of Florida and Caroline & Chandler Kydd of Virginia.
Dean was born at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Cyril and Bernice Carhoun in 1936. He would go on to receive his Bachelor of Sciences degree in Electrical Engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in 1958. Dean pursued his love for science & engineering at the Mitre Corporation, where his career spanned for 30 years. Following his retirement, Dean continued to do consulting work on a number of national & international projects up until a few years ago when his health declined.
In retirement, Dean & Mary moved to Florida where they pursued their love for golf. He was an avid golfer and member at Black Diamond in Lecanto for the past 22 years.
Dean’s family will hold a Celebration of Life on Saturday, February 15, 2020.
It will be held from 12-3 pm at the VFW located at 2170 West Vet Lane, Beverly Hills, Florida 34465.
