Esther Marie Latz

Esther Marie Latz, 91 years of age, of Ocala, Florida, passed away on Monday, October 21, 2024 surrounded by her family and Cornerstone Hospice present. Esther was born on April 22, 1933 in Buffalo, New York. She is survived by her sister Jean Schrecongost of Salisbury, Maryland and her brother Neil Carpentier of Warwick, New York. Esther was preceded in death by her husband of 28 years, Jack Latz, who was a World War II veteran; parents Isabelle and Anthony (Tony) Carpentier; her sister Paula Neeley; her two sons Robert William Hunter and James Michael Hunter and two grandchildren, Laura Kristen Harrer and Jeremy David Hunter. Her surviving children are Beth Harrer of Life Oak, FL; Karen Tyler (husband Tom), also of Live Oak, FL; Catherine Schwartz of Haines City, FL; Paula Latz of Tonawanda, NY; Jack Latz, also of Tonawanda, NY; Brenda Dabolt (husband Rod) of Orchard Park, NY and Linda Schihl of Buffalo, NY.; 15 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren, as well as a daughter-in-law, Jackie Hunter of Jensen Beach, FL. Before her retirement, Esther worked as Deputy Sheriff for Erie County Sheriff's Office in Buffalo. When Esther and her husband Jack moved to Beverly Hills, FL, she spent her life helping others as much as possible in various volunteer organizations. She was Past President of the Italian American Club in Beverly Hills, where she was instrumental in organizing many fundraising events, and also loved her involvement with other social events including weekly card games, poetry groups, dancing and so much more. A Celebration of Life will take place on Saturday, November 9, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Fero Funeral Home and Life Celebration Center, 5955 North Lecanto Highway, Beverly Hills, FL 34465 in The Magnolia Room. Interment will follow at Fero Memorial Gardens Cemetery at 12:00 Noon. In lieu of flowers, please consider honoring Esther with a donation to Cornerstone Hospice, Chapters Health Foundation.
