She was born in Brockton, Massachusetts, on September 23, 1936.
Darby graduated from Brockton High School.
Darby had a career as a Lab Technician for Seven Rivers Hospital. She was a member of the Pine Ridge Country Club, and had a passion for golf, horses, pets, and bowling.
She is survived by her children Jim McAvoy, Lynne Hammond, Kelly Murray, and Jay McAvoy, grandchildren James, Alex, Brendon, Carly, Megan, Shawn, John, Cody, numerous great grandchildren, brother David Shea, and daughter in laws Tracey McAvoy and Lori McAvoy.
Darby was predeceased by her husband of 53 years, Ernie Cerce, grandson Brian, and sister Kay
Anderson.
A Celebration of Life for Evelyn will be held on Friday February 28, 2025 beginning at 11 am, with reception to follow at Fero Funeral Home & Life Celebration Center, 5955 N. Lecanto Hwy., Beverly Hills, FL 34465. A committal service beginning at 2 PM will be held at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Florida.
