Frank Buonomo was born on May 7, 1922 in Boston, Ma to Frank and Rose Buonomo. He grew up in Islington, Ma and attended grade school in Islington and graduated from Dedham High School in 1940. When war broke out Frank joined the Army Airforce and served in Brazil building airports for military aircraft returning from bombing missions and on search and recovery missions for pilots lost in the Brazilian jungle. He also served on board ship as a steam engineer and at the Foreriver Shipyard. During his service he met and married Inge Buonomo who was serving in the Womens Army Corp. Frank had trained as a machinist and then earned his degree in Industrial engineering. After their military service they raised two sons; Gary and Ronald and moved to Westwood, Ma. Frank became Vice President of BS Roy & Sons in Worchester, Ma and then returned to government service in the (DOD) Department of Defense as a DCASR Engineer. Frank was recognized by two US Presidents; President Ford and President Carter for his government work.
Frank was a dedicated family man who was active in his community and with his family coaching Little League and participating in boating, attending high school events and involved with his sons activities.
Frank and his wife retired in 1982 and moved to Florida where they enjoyed golf, tennis, local entertainment and trips to Europe. Frank leaves his son Gary and two grand daughters Diane and Jennifer living in New Hampshire, Ron & his wife Terry living in Sugar Land Texas.
