Irene passed away on 8/8/25. She was born (2/18/53) to the late Rose (Celestino) and Michael Amrich; and sister to the late Mary Amrich. Irene was the wife of the late Jay C. Meyer, a Vietnam veteran. She is survived by her cousins. Irene was a Christian.
Irene, a longtime resident of Citrus County, received the American Legion Award; was a U of I James Scholar; a member of MENSA. She was a licensed Clinical Laboratory Technologist. Her favorite hobby was collecting ladies folding fans.
Irene's answer to her husband's beloved "Irish Blessing" is this stanza of the "Walking Song" by J.R.R. Tolkien:
Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate;

West of the Moon, East of the Sun.
