Joan was one of the first members to join the newly formed League of Women Voters of Citrus County, Florida in April 2013. She was a familiar face in our community and always quick to offer a helping hand.

Joan will be greatly missed by all of the League members and remembered for her cheerfulness. It was a gift to know her.

Our deepest condolences to the family for the loss of a great person.  Since the day we met Joan we felt as if we had known  forever.  We were sincerely blessed to have her for a  friend.

We talked about travelling, and I am so happy she got to do some. Sorry I didn't get to travel with Joan;it would have been fun.

I met Joan through the League of WV, and she was so helpful in 
promoting our celebration of the 100th anniversary of the  19th amendment.

We will miss her.


We will always remember her smile and warmth as we shared church and other activities with her.  

Dear family of Joan, we were sorry to hear of Joan passing away.  We have so many great memories of all the times we got together whether it was a meeting, picnic, holiday party, or other gathering.  I was fortunate to have traveled with Joan when we went to different areas of Florida for various meetings.  She was always in good spirits, fun to be with, wonderful sense of humor, a great advocate for union business and would help anyone she could.  She especially always talked so proudly of her family and all the travel with grandchildren and family.  We will miss her very much in the future.  Our sincere sympathy and prayers are with Joan and all her family at this difficult time.

I worked with Joan at NCMC for years.  I retired years before her but  we got  together when we both moved to FL.  I  was in her Unit when I moved to FL and we had so many other NCMC friends in the same group.  I saw her so often with  meetings. She was waiting to feel better so she could come and stay with me and go to see the Mets at Spring training as I live in Port St Lucie. So sorry it didn't  work out.  She was a wonderful friend and will be missed. My condolences to her family .

I got to know Joan through her work as a leader of the CSEA Retiree Division in Florida.  She was a wonderful woman, a great leader and activist.  She was full of life all the way to the end.  My condolences - CSEA will miss Joan.  

My heart breaks hearing the news of my friend and colleague Joan. I am grateful to have been able to work with her in her role as a CSEA union officer. We had the opportunity to travel together during this time and we became good  friends. She was one of my favorite people. She offered me support and advice and her friendship. She was a wonderful mentor, a strong woman dedicated to her family and friends and passionate about her union work. I was always in awe of how progressive she was. She showed me how to use Uber on her IPad! I will miss  her dearly. My condolences to her family and many friends.
