John W. Davis, 98 of Lecanto, Florida died on Saturday, April 9, 2011 in Inverness, Florida He was born in Trenton, New Jersey on Monday, April 15, 1912. John was a retired maintenance man in the agricultural industry. He moved to Florida in 1955 from West Virginia and was a member of the Venice First Baptist Church in Venice, Florida. John enjoyed working outdoors, going to the beach and collecting sea shells and watching the sun go down over the ocean's horizon.
John was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Davis.
Survivors include his sons, Leon Davis and wife Susan of Lecanto, Florida and Larry Davis of Toast, North Carolina; daughters, Judy Farmer of Homosassa Springs, Florida, Diane Kayel and husband Mike of Chester, South Carolina and Betty Ritter and husband Harold of Inverness, Florida; 13 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
Inurnment will take place at Gulf Pines Memorial Park in Englewood, Florida at a later date.
