Julie Crosby "Cookie" Klein, 65, of Lecanto, Florida, passed away on March 5, 2014 at Citrus Memorial Hospital, Inverness, Florida. A native of Biloxi, Mississippi, she moved to Citrus County in 1987 from Jacksonville, Florida and was a waitress by profession, employed by both Gabby's Restaurant at the Crystal River Mall and also Cody's Roadhouse in Crystal River. Cookie, as she was known to many, was an avid dog lover and raised many dogs in her life. She also loved music and loved going to concerts. Mrs. Klein loved her family and her grandchildren dearly. She is survived by her husband of nearly 35 years, Walter John Klein, Jr. of Lecanto; son Martin "Shane" Smith (wife Patty), Virginia Beach, VA; daughter Melanie Smith Willis, Garner, NC; daughter Sarah Ann Klein, Lecanto and granddaughters Nina Smith, Virginia Beach, VA and Abbey Howard, Lecanto, as well as her loving dog, Marley. Cookie was preceded in death by her sister, Candrea "Candy" Anderson. A memorial service of remembrance will be held on Sunday, March 9, 2014 at 1:30 P.M. from fero Funeral Home, beverly Hills, Florida.
