She is survived by the love of her life, husband Bobby Handley, married 24 years; her mother Brenda Watts Hatton and sister Natasha Hatton Brundon- both of Beverly Hills, Florida; nephews, JC and Kaleb Brundon; 3 great nephews, Jace, Aydan, and Eythan Brundon; 1 great niece, Everly England-Brundon and a family of aunts, uncles and cousins. Proceeded in death were her father Rick Hatton and brother Rickey Lane Hatton.
Kristi served her country by enlisting in the Florida Army National Guard in 1991 as an Automated Logistics Specialist. She served in 711st Service Company, 631 Maintenance Company where she deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Camp Blanding Joint Training Center. During her military service, she earned numerous awards including 3 Army Achievement Medals, 2 National Defense Service Medals, and the Global War on Terrorism. She competed for and was selected as the Soldier of the Year for her unit. Kristi served for 14 years before separating from the Florida National Guard as a Sergeant in the 631st Maintenance Company. She worked as a military technician at CSMS, Camp Blanding for several years. After her separation from the National Guard, she earned her Dog Grooming Certification and began a mobile dog grooming and dog sitting business. Her passion for dogs was apparent by the love and care she gave to each one.
Kristi was a ray of sunshine. Her laughter and enthusiasm for life left and everlasting impact on everyone she met.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 13th, 2024 at Fero Funeral Home & Life Celebration Center, 5955 N. Lecanto Hwy. Beverly Hills, Florida. Viewing will start at 11 a.m. and the funeral service will be at 1 p.m. with burial following.
