

Leon Wierzbinski, Sr., 82 of Hernando, Florida passed away on Sunday, June 9, 2013 in the loving care of his family and Hospice of Citrus County. He was born on Thursday, November 13, 1930 in Elizabeth, New Jersey to Theodore and Pauline (Paluk) Wierzbinski. Leon moved to this area on May 24, 2004 from Colonia, New Jersey and retired from GM in 1988 as a tool and die maker. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy, served during the Korean Conflict and was a member of the V.F.W. in New Jersey. He was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus in New Jersey and was an avid golfer and bowler.
Leon was preceded in death by his first wife, Elizabeth Rodak Wierzbinski and by his brother, Donald Wierzbinski.
Survivors include his wife of 24 years, Margaret McLoughlin Wierzbinski of Hernando, Florida; sons, Leon Wierzbinski, Jr. of Dunnellon, Florida, Gary Wierzbinski and wife Linda of Linden, New Jersey, David Wierzbinski of Dunnellon, Florida and Wayne Wierzbinski of Newark, New Jersey; daughters, Lori Wierzbinski of Mountainside, New Jersey and Lisa Vrabel of Langhorn, Pennsylvania and grandchildren, Lindsay Wierzbinski of Las Vegas, Nevada, Lacey Wierzbinski of Freehold, New Jersey, Brieann and Chelsey Wierzbinski both of West Columbia, South Carolina, Jasmine Smart of Langhorn, Pennsylvania and Dillon Glynn of Mountainside, New Jersey.
A Funeral Mass will be held at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 1401 W. Country Club Blvd. Citrus Springs, FL 34434, Thursday at 9:30 AM. The family will receive Friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 5:00 until 7:00 PM.
