She was the loving wife of Terry F. Allyn, U.S. Army (Ret.), whom she met 50 years and ago shared a beautiful life together. Maria is survived by her son, Jeffrey Allyn of Citrus Springs, Florida; her daughter and son-in-law, Natalie and Thomas Kozminsky, and her grandchildren, Reagan and Thomas “Tommy” Kozminsky, all of Pensacola, Florida. She is also survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Javier Garcia, of San Antonio, Texas, and her granddaughter, Kaitlyn Crumley.
Maria was born on October 16, 1951, in Hoensbroek, Netherlands, to Emma Corvers and Rein Ploeg. She was the eldest daughter of 11 children and, while growing up, played a pivotal role in caring for her 10 siblings.
Maria enjoyed karaoke, traveling, and spending time with family and friends, always making lasting memories along the way. She brought joy and energy to everyone whose path she crossed. She was a beloved wife, mother, Oma, sister, and friend. The beautiful moments, laughter, and love she shared will be cherished by all who knew her.
A simple gathering for immediate family will be held at Fero Funeral home on Friday, September 25, 2026 from 10:30-11:00 AM, A gathering for the general public will follow from 11:00 AM- 12:30 PM. The burial will take place at Florida National Cemetery at 2:00 pm in Bushnell, Florida.
