I knew Marie from when she lived in Du Bois, PA. We worked out at the Y together and she was one of my Juice Plus+ customers. I was just thinking of her because we f her birthday and was shocked to hear of her passing. I have ant to offer my condolences to net family. Patty Melani

Marie and I went to high school together and she was my maid of honor.  For some reason today I started thinking about her and decided to look her up. Imagine my shock and sadness to see that she had recently passed.  We were close during those years in high school but somehow our lives went in different directions after that.  She was a wonderful friend and from what I read, she carried that throughout her life. I am sure you are resting in peace, my friend. 

My Aunt Marie always lived life to the fullest and loved to have fun. One of my favorite memories was when I would spend time with her at her lake house in Alabama. She was also ready to go do things! We went tubing, skiing and swimming off the dock. Took boat rides to see fireworks. We took trips into town to shop until we dropped. I will miss her love of life and having experiences together.

Distances separated us a lot.  But whenever we did get together, at Frank and Marie and Frank's homes in Mokena (those 4th of July pool parties and fireworks were the best!), IA, PA, AL#2, the Cayman's, and also our home in Chicago, Marie was always welcoming, sparked great conversations and much laughter, and enjoyable visits.  I was always amazed at how much volunteer work she did.  Her faith and family were her rocks, I think.  I will miss her, she will be missed by all who knew her.  Love you.

My favorite memory with Aunt Marie is long boat rides on Lake Smith. She would always ask for updates about our kids. I think she loved that we always tried to come visit them wherever they were at that time. I know our kids appreciated that she came to celebrate their special milestones in their lives. They remember that she was there for them. We will miss her. 

Marie always made us the most delicious coconut cream poke cake to share at our many covered dish dinners in Cayman.  Tracy & I always helped her make that decision if she was undecided as to what to bring.  Another of my favorites that Marie made for us was her eggplant parmesan - my favorite!  Lots of great food & laughs every time we were together.  I'll miss her so much!

Marie & I went together to get our 1st tattoos while in Cayman one year.  Tracy & Judy went with us (Judy to take pictures & Tracy to hold our hands).  Tracy had a tattoo already & had told Marie & me that it hurt.   I chose a very small picture of South Carolina's state seal - I didn't want it to hurt for very long!  Marie kept warning me that it was too small & no one would be able to see it.  I went first & it did not hurt, so Marie decided to select a big beautiful colorful sea turtle tattoo.  That night we had dinner out & walking across the parking lot, I remarked that no one said anything about my new tattoo.  Marie stopped in her tracks & said "no one SAW it - I TOLD you it was too small!"  She was right & the next year, we went back for another tattoo (one of mine was a larger one to cover up the previous one).  We laughed about that night for years!

 While John & I were staying with Marie & Frank during their time in Belize, Marie decided that she & I were going to the movies.  This was a film shown on a big white sheet of some kind outside behind a bar/restaurant.  It was across town & since the only mode of transportation allowed on their island was a golf cart, Marie drove us..... & she did a good job on those very bad, bumpy, dirt roads.  I don't remember the film, but I definitely remember the laughs!

....another Valentine's Day story - Marie, Frank, John, & I always had Valentine dinner together at some restaurant in Cayman (many times at The Edge in North Side).  After we all sold our places & moved on (Marie & Frank to Belize or Florida and John & I back to South Carolina), John would ask where I wanted to have Valentine's dinner.  My usual response was "wherever Frank & Marie are going".  We had so many fun times together at those dinners, at our annual "polar bear club" parties, & our Sundays at Governors Beach - memories we will cherish forever.

After rebuilding our condos in Cayman (after Hurricane Ivan), Frank & Marie and John & I spent our annual winter visits together.  Marie & I shopped for Frank's & John's Valentine gifts together & once got them matching tees from a dive shop.  Because they were always together - diving, visiting yard sales, repairing something, smoking cigars,  we called them Frick & Frank.  I embroidered these names on their respective shirts......& they WORE them!  

While visiting me in Marco Island, Marie and I decided to do a little shopping.  As we strolled around the store gathering a few things to try on the sales staff would take the things and put them into fitting rooms for us to try on.  Eventually we both went to our fitting rooms to try the clothing.  As we stepped out of the fitting rooms and looked at each other we had picked the same dress - mine was in black and Marie's was in blue.  We just looked at each other and started laughing.  We both bought the dresses.  I wore my dress to Marie's funeral in her honor and it brought a smile to my face just thinking back to that fun day - two friends shopping, laughing and having a good time together!  
Marie will be missed.

The Police Chief wanted us to pay an exorbitant amount of money to have the boot taken off.  I said, there was no reason to give us the ticket, boot, or fine!  He 
looked at us and said something very strange, he said you two ladies talk like I do.  Where are you from?  I said Chicago, Illinois.  He said that he graduated from the U. of I. Chicago!  I said, that John, Frank and I did as well.  He laughed, talked about the student government we were involved in, and then took us to our rental car, smiled and said, the guys shall never hear of this from my office!!!  But, he saw that someone had stolen the NO PARKING SIGN, so he smiled, kissed Frank on the forehead and waved as we headed home to the golf course and the lizard family we shared the house with!

I have been friends with Marie for over 50 years.  Marie and Frank were married 5 weeks after we were.  Frank, John - my husband, and I, went and graduated from the University of Illinois Chicago, together.  

We have shared so many experiences, especially, when Frankie was a baby and young child traveling together.  The husbands were scuba divers, and Marie and I were definitely NOT!  While we loved to travel, we certainly had our standards for comfort, dining, and sightseeing everywhere we went.  While the men dove, Marie and I took Frank anywhere and everywhere we wanted to go!  His first trip was to Cancun, Mexico, as a baby barely a few months old!  At the airport, we were supposed to have a rental car waiting for us - NO!  So, a chartered bus took the five of us to the home on the golf course we were staying.  The bus then took the husbands to the car facility.  Marie and Frank and I proceeded into the house.  On  first glance of the inside of the house,it was doable, (Marie and I have very high expectations).  We walked into the kitchen to find a lizard family walking in behind us to the same place.  Marie and I now spent, with Frank, about 45 minutes on the top of the kitchen table.  Frank was in his carrier and we were petrified to make a move!  The husbands thought it was funny, but to this day, Marie and I never found it a bit funny!  Two days later, the husbands were diving, and Marie, Frank, and I were shopping.  I parked the car right next to another car and went shopping with the baby.  When we came back in an hour or so, the car had a giant sign on the windshield and a boot on the wheelbase!  The sign said “ Go to the Police Station to move your car”.  Sooo, we went to the Polizei,  and waited.  The Police Chief called us to come into his office……. We sat in his office and remember, we had a wee tiny baby with us!  He was pretty angry thinking that we had a very young baby in his office because of our negligence! More to follow.

Im so Sad to loose one of my many favorite Cousins. We will meet again in Heaven. I will miss all our favorite things we did together. I know God needed this Special person to be with him in Heaven. LOVE YOU MARIE.

Marie left a lasting impression on the families and Catechists of the 
Faith Formation Program at Our Lady of Grace.  She had a deep faith and was dedicated to passing it on to our youth.  Marie was a seasoned Catechist from years past and she was just beginning her third year in our parish preparing students to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation. One other role Marie took on in our parish was editing our parish newsletter.  Each quarter she gave of her time and talent to help us reach out to all our parishioners.  I personally am very grateful for Marie and deeply miss her presence in our parish and in my life.  Marie and her family are in my thoughts and prayers.

     The Community of Catholic Women from Our Lady of Grace Church will greatly miss Marie.  She was always there to serve God and our parish.  Marie was on the Board as the Recording Secretary.  We thank God for her dedication and selfless service.  

Dear Klun Family,  I knew Marie from Zumba class and dancing at the Tiki Bar.   She loved to dance!  She was a kind and lovely lady.  She will be sorely missed.  My condolences to the family.  Prayers for all to cherish the memories you shared to ease the loss you feel.  God Bless!

I’m so very sorry for the loss of Marie. 
Our friendship started thru line dancing and then Zumba. Over the last few years our friendship began to grow. When I’d get to line dancing class, I’d look for her and she was usually already there dancing. I’ll definitely miss seeing her look up and smile! 
Until we see her again, may God comfort us and ease our sorrow with wonderful memories. I feel truly blessed for our friendship.

We were just together a few days before in line dance class and we knew she hadn't been feeling well for a while but it is still a shock to see her leave us. I just moved here a year ago and we became friends in Zumba and line dancing. She was very kind to me and helped me fell comfortable , I always looked forward to seeing and talking to her.. I fell so sad about your loss. 

I am so sorry for your loss.  It was such a pleasure having Marie in my line dance class.  We became friends and her passion for dancing showed.  There will be an empty place on the floor.
