Autie Mary.  I may not have seen you often, with the distance between the US and the UK keeping us apart, but every moment we shared together was precious to me. When we did meet, I loved our conversations, our laughter, and the warmth that made me feel as though we were kindred spirits.

I will always remember the time you came to see Dad in 2014, as he was nearing the end of his life. I know in my heart that your presence meant the world to him, and it meant so much to me as well.

I loved you then, and I always will. Though miles often kept us apart, love has never known distance. You will remain forever in my heart.

I know that my aunt, Mary was ill for sometime now however, it was shocking to hear of her passing last Tuesday, September 2, 2025.  

We usually have conversations  - long conversations on the phone because we were miles away and the opportunity would have allowed us to converse for long when we get a chance.   

We would go back into family history and of course she would update me of her journey as well as our family.  It was truly a pleasure having those conversations.  I am certainly going to miss those moment.  

Such a sweet soul.  I know she is at rest - painless.  May her soul rest in eternal peace.

I remember when Aunt Mary came over to UK. I was honoured to have her stay over.    )

We went shopping for a suitcase and for some Clark’s shoes. We giggled like young girls in shop, trying on this pair and that pair, pretending that we were on a catwalk. 

We had such a good time. 

I’ve still got my shoes. 👠

I knew I had family in America but, didnt meet Aunt Mary until she came over to England for my sister's wedding.  She took me under her wing.  I then visited her a few years after that and stayed at her home where I was introduced to Brownies, eating pizza without a knife and fork and eating out on a Sunday after church, which I all do today.  She was very modern in her out look and I will miss her dearly.  Rest In Peace Dear Aunt xxx

I met Mary about 5 years ago when I relocated to Beverly Hills, Florida from Lakeland and became a member of Shepherd of the Hills Episcopal Church.  Mary and I quickly became friends as we were members of Daughters of the King, Cursillo reunion group and the Choir.  Since I drove her to and from these groups and almost all that  took place at SOTH) we had many opportunities to have personal, intimate one-on-one conversations. As a result, we became so close that we considered each other sisters in both the spiritual and familial sense.  So much so, that we closed all our conversations with "Love you!" rather than goodbye.

Mary was a long-standing, faithful, devoted and sustaining member of SOTH and as such will leave a void in our church family which will be difficult to fill.  She loved and was loved by young and old alike and will be dearly missed and remembered by all of us.

Condolences to her family, especially her loving and faithful niece Audrey Holmes.  We share in your loss.  May she rest in peace.

My Queen Mary, you will be missed, your strength and love. We walk together to receive common each Sunday.
