Most people who knew her called her a “sweetheart” and an “angel”. She was a people person and very interested in people and meeting and knowing people and helping people. Her faith and belief in God and the Bible were of utmost importance to her; she never missed an opportunity to share her beliefs and her Bible knowledge with others. She was an excellent example for us all and made the world a better place by her wonderful example.
She was very much a family person and doted on her beloved husband and her daughters.
She was a very talented and accomplished seamstress, cook, gardener and musician. She was known for growing rose bushes and peonies. She could sew her own clothes by hand. She was constantly trying out new recipes and had an extensive recipe collection. She played the guitar and the piano.
She married her young adult sweetheart, Stanley J. Laughton, who she met at a dance at the age of 19 and they were married for 64 years, until he died in 2011. She was a homemaker in her own home for most all her adult life. She died of cancer at the age of 91.
She is survived by her daughter, Karen S. Foley, of Aurora, Colorado.
