Richard Allen Jones

Dad married Barbara (Fitzwater) on October 9th, 1964 and they remained side by side steadfast until his passing for almost 60 years. Dad was a member of the famed Tropic Lightning (25th infantry division) and served with that unit in Vietnam. When Dad returned home he worked primarily as a police officer and later in life as a truck driver/mechanic. Dad's hobbies included an unending love of cars, drag racing and fishing. Dad was ready to go racing or fishing at the drop of a hat. But above all of that he was most proud to be a husband, father, and grandfather. Dad was so proud of his children Dave (Jennifer) Jones and Karen (Mark) Gilbert. And he was a proud pawpaw to Justin, Brittany, Brandon, Samantha, Megan, Mariah, Cody, and Shelby. Along with 10 great grandchildren. Also left to carry on Dad's memory are his two sisters Darlene (Allen) Cooper and Sandy Jones and numerous nieces and nephews. Dad was preceded in death by his mother Marie and father Charles who we are certain were there to welcome him home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Tunnels to Towers.

A visitation for Richard will be held Thursday, September 12, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM at Fero Funeral Home & Life Celebration Center, 5955 North Lecanto Highway, Beverly Hills, FL 34465. Followed by a Celebration of Life from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM. A committal service will occur Thursday, September 12, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM at Fero Memorial Gardens, 5891 N Lecanto Hwy, Beverly Hills, FL 34465.
