
Richard Page McCartney, 74 of Dunnellon died Sunday, March 20, 2016. Richard was born in Ripley, West Virginia on January 4, 1942 to Philip Page McCartney and Maysel Elaine (Gandee) McCartney. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Bonnie.
Richard was a retired United States Air Force Colonel. He received numerous medals, badges and campaign ribbons during his years of service including the Air force Achievement medal and the Air Force Overseas Long Tour Ribbon. Richard was described as “A people person and a common sense boss; who was totally dedicated to the Air National Guard.”
Richard was a member of the Bible Baptist Church of Crystal River, the American Legion, the Military Officers Association of America and the Air Force Association.
In addition to his wife he is survived by twin brother Philip David McCartney of Oak Ridge, North Caroline; his sister May Elaine Barker of Beverly Hills. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Larry Paul McCartney.
Visitation will be held Thursday, March 24, 2016 from 6 to 8 PM at Fero Funeral Home, Beverly Hills, Florida. The funeral service will be held Friday, March 25, 2016 at 11 AM at Fero Funeral Home. A committal service with military honors will be held at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Florida at 2:30 PM Friday, March 25, 2016.
